I like Prink Salon, 2130 W Division St, Chicago, IL.

They're really modern but cheap too =)What are some relly great hair salons in chicago?
I really like Salon 1800 on the corner of Sheffield and Armitage. They are a bit pricey (around $50 for a cut) but you get what you pay for. I have long hair as well and was really happy with their styling.

How do the hair salons relax hair ? like i cant imagine it please i am really curious?

because i might get my hair relaxed but only if i get good grades and i just cant imagine how they do it ? can anyone tell me who has gotten their hair relaxed before and did the results come out good ?How do the hair salons relax hair ? like i cant imagine it please i am really curious?
THE SHOP I GO TO WHICH IS ISIS SALON IN SAN DIEGO THE BEAUTICIANS THERE HAVE A CREAMED MIXTURE WHICH IS THE RELAXER AND THE PART YOUR HAIR INTO 4 SECTIONS AND THEY APPLY IT ON THE NEW GROWTH WHICH IS THE SCALP AREA AND THEY USE A PERM BRUSH WHICH IS KINDA LIKE A BBQ BRUSH. IT STAYS ON FROM 10-22 MINUTES DEPENDING ON YOUR HAIR AND THEN IS RINSED FOLLOWED BY A SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONING. WHICHEVER U CHOOSE MAKE SURE U DONT SCRATCH OR WASH HAIR WITHIN 30 HOURS OF THE PROCESS CAUSE U OPEN YOUR PORES IN THE SCALP AND IT CAN DAMAGE THE HAIR FOLLICLE.How do the hair salons relax hair ? like i cant imagine it please i am really curious?
is this the same as the japanese chemical straightening? Report Abuse

It depends on what you want. There are products that are used with a flat iron and can truly flatten your hair. If not done properly, the heat will cause over straightening and damage. There are relaxers, they need to be applied in a very timely manner and require a lot of skill, as the hair needs to be stretched while the chemical is on the hair.

Neither of these products should be used on color treated hair without going to a professional stylist. Relaxers are strong chemicals and if improperly used, cause breakage.

Another thing. Relaxed or straightened hair requires maintenance. It has to be done continually to keep the look.
If you have curly or frizzy hair, they use the same solution on your hair that they use for perming it except they do not put rods in it. They put the solution on and then they comb it out through the hair ever so many minutes until it is straight and then they rinse it out.
yea what the first lady saide lol i get my hair realxerd and it comes our really good i mena really really really really good i love it
the salons use a chemical straightner its a cream or liquid that has chemicals to relax the curl. I suggest a thermal ionic one as its less work and aftercare, with some relaxants you still have to blowdry and straighten hair with the ionic you can take out the hairs moisture and it straightens itself no extra work required.

generally the process goes like this

    1. Hair is shampooed twice to remove products and oils

    2. Hair is dried off thoroughly

    3. Relaxabnt is applied to hair in sections and placed on boards to keep hair flat.

    4. After the process time hair is again shampooed and a neutrilizer is applied to haie and left for five minutes.

5.Hair is dryed off and blowdryed straight

    6. Hair must not be washed or wet for 72 hours

In the Future what do you think Hair Salons might be like?

Perhaps the Hairstylists will be replaced with machines programmed to do Perms, Straightening, Trims, and hundreds of other stlyes? Maybe colors that are not very popular today will be then Like Pink, Purple or Reds might become the common color intead of Blonde. And Perhaps maybe the salons will have Robots who wash and condition hair while giving great scalp massages and all you have to is sit down and slide your credit card.In the Future what do you think Hair Salons might be like?
I dont think so because nothing can replace the human touchIn the Future what do you think Hair Salons might be like?

Why are hair salons so reluctant to use bleach to lift my hair to light blonde?

My natural hair color is a dark ash blonde (level 7). Everytime I go to the salon for a root touch up, they use regular color with a 30 developer. Everytime, my roots end up golden orange rather than platinum like the rest of my head. I tell them they need to use bleach first to lift my roots then apply the color/dye (double process) but they never are willing to do this because they are afraid of damaging my hair. Is my salon simply too conservative? I honestly can't get past the orange state without using bleach. Why are hair salons so reluctant to use bleach to lift my hair to light blonde?
The reason they won't do it is because bleach will dry out your hair and actually burn tiny holes in it. If you bleach your hair right at the roots, you'll find that within a few months, a lot of your hair is actually ';cracking'; and breaking off much shorter than you want it to be. If you leave the single process color in longer, it will make your hair lighter though. Maybe ask them to do that? Why are hair salons so reluctant to use bleach to lift my hair to light blonde?
For most blondes, regular color should be able to lift enough to give light blonde highlights - or about 2 levels. Bleach is terribly damaging, so most salons will avoid it if they can. So they are trying to give you the look you want, without the damage. Explain, very clearly, when you book your next appointment, that you are looking for dramatic platinum blonde highlights and your hairdresser should understand from that, that they will need to use bleach. If not, look around for someone who takes you at your word.
tell them thats what you want and if the dont do what you ask of them, refuse to pay. try going to a different salon where they are willing to do what you want. if not you could try doing it yourself?

    XOXO

    answer mine please http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind鈥?/a>
go to a different salon asap!...they clearly dont know what theyre doing....they arent leaving the bleack on long enough when they do your roots...even if they use a regular color, they can still cut the orange tones with a toner...i would either go back and make them fix it or go to a new salon
Because if it damages your hair badly, they are afraid you will sue them. It's another result of frivolous lawsuits and the fear they cause.
FIND ANOTHER SHOP. I WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING AND ENDED FINDING AN OLDER BEAUTICIAN.. THE YOUNGER ONES ARE JUST PUSHING THE CURRENT TREND OF BROAD LOW-LITES. JUST WAIT LONGER BETWEEN TOUCH-UPS
    no, it breaks off hair.

because it damages your hair by taking out some of the natural nutrients and making it really dry....
because your hair can get fried
